Way back in August I did a review of the Kromlech Tank Hunters with plans of using them to make some custom Tankbustas. Games Workshop has models, but as I may have mentioned before, I really hate Finecast regardless of how cool the models might look.
My custom Tankbustas are built from the Kromlech kits, plus a variety of bits from boyz, warbiker, and stormboy kits. I really liked the greatcoat look but wanted bare arms and lots of Tankbusta Bombs and Rokkits. I think the final combination came out really good. I also through together a trio of bomb squigs using models of unknown origin that I picked up a while back from an Ebay seller.
So far I’ve only gotten five of my planned ten man unit painted. Color scheme wise I continued the same general scheme of metalics, browns, and greys that I have used on my trukks and warbikers. I have also continued the purple and magenta accents as something of a signature tone across my hoard, pulling the disparate units together. It gives a ragtag orky look to each individual model, while allowing them to look like a cohesive unit when together.
